Having caused a massive disruption of education systems all over the world,
the pandemic of COVID-19 is affecting both learners and educators. According to the
data presented by the UN, 94% of the former are exposed to the influence of closing
various learning spaces [6]. As any other crises, the current one has made the existing
problems, such as the digital divide and pre-existing disparities in the educational
sector, insufficient financing in many countries or technophobia, more obvious.
Nonetheless, as any predicament might present opportunities, the pandemic has
stimulated innovation within the education sector as societies mobilized to address
the immediate challenge.
